Oh no! Actor Chris Hemsworth gets hilariously excluded from wife Elsa Pataky’s family at Christmas

Dealing with in-laws can be hard.

And Chris Hemsworth proved that being one of Hollywood’s biggest stars doesn’t make you immune to the difficulties of extended family.

Taking to Instagram, the 36-year-old actor shared a hilarious shot of himself posing next to his wife’s family, appearing somewhat excluded from the group.

Oh no! Actor Chris Hemsworth, 36, (pictured) got hilariously excluded from wife Elsa Pataky’s family at Christmas time sharing a hilarious shot to Instagram on Wednesday

Standing on a glass balcony next to a pool, Elsa looked chummy next to her family as they laughed and smiled together.

But Chris, however, was spotted standing in the pool posing in the background.

‘I love Christmas it really brings people together,’ Chris said, sarcastically.

Feel the love! ‘I love Christmas it really brings people together,’ Chris said, ‘Thanks Elsa Pataky and her Spanish family for truly making me feel part of the family’

He then jokingly poked fun at his relatives.

‘Thanks Elsa Pataky and her Spanish family for truly making me feel part of the family.’

Chris was clearly having a laugh at his extended family, as he enjoyed Christmas with his own parents and two brothers, Liam and Luke, too.

Well-deserved: Chris has revealed he will ‘take some time off’ from acting to be with his family after a record-breaking year at the box office (Pictured: Chris as Thor in Avengers: Endgame)

Having just built their enormous $20 million home in Byron Bay, Chris and Elsa are believed to be spending the extended holidays in their new home.

Chris was joined by his parents, as well as brother Luke and his wife Samantha, along with newly-single actor brother, Liam.

Chris is winding down after a big year following the release of Avengers: Endgame, with him announcing he will soon take time off.

Being in the moment: The Byron Bay-based star said: ‘I realised that for so long I’d been sort of looking to the future and chasing what next… and then it hit me that, well, this is it’

In an interview with Sunrise on Tuesday, he said he will look to take six to eight months off next year.

The star revealed: ‘I’m going to take some time off now – probably six to eight months – and just be at home.’

‘I had a real, sort of, come down off the back of that press tour for Avengers and it was the most intense three weeks,’ he said.

On tour: The actor also took part in the intense three-week global press tour for Avengers: Endgame which earned a record-breaking $2.79 billion worldwide, according to IMBD’s Box Office Mojo (Pictured: Chris in London for the Avengers: Endgame photocall)

‘I realised that for so long I’d been sort of looking to the future and chasing what next… and then it hit me that, well, this is it.

‘The thing that I’ve worked for and dreamt of doing, and I’ve just got to enjoy this moment.’

The final installment of the Avengers films earned a record-breaking $2.79 billion worldwide, according to IMBD’s Box Office Mojo.

Quality time: The actor added that he will be spending plenty of quality time with his wife, Spanish actress Elsa Pataky (pictured) and their three children – daughter India Rose, seven, and twin boys Tristan and Sasha, both five – at their home in Byron Bay

With that Marvel series now complete and a couple of projects recently announced – including the fourth Thor film – Chris said he plans to be more in the ‘moment’ during his time off.

Chris and Elsa relocated their young family to Byron Bay five years ago after living in Los Angeles.

In an interview with Women’s Health back in 2017 Elsa said that they wanted a quieter, more laid-back lifestyle.

‘In Byron we just feel like locals. People really respect us… and it’s what I always dreamt of giving to my kids.’

Now, the Hemsworths are preparing to move into a ‘mega mansion’ set on a 4.2 hectare estate in Broken Head, south of Byron Bay, worth an estimated $20million.
