Exclusive access to Tyler, The Create’s $7.9 mιllιon Bel Air mansion

This modernist home, constructed in 1965, has seen numerous modifications throughout the years. Even though it still has a low-slung midcentury exterior today, the interior is massive and aggressively contemporary, complete with glass walls, high ceilings, and expansive blonde travertine floors.

The home has undergone extensive renovations and expansion, adding approximately 6,000 square feet of living area, much of which is thanks to a very apparent and sizable addition that protrudes like a curving tail from the more modest original construction.

The actual property is incredibly private as well; it is hidden away at the very end of a little-known cul-de-sac in the highest reaches of Bel Air, in the hills high above Sunset Boulevard. The house is hidden from view by large gates, and there are miles of views.

The rapper Tyler Okonma, also known as Tyler, the Creator to his tens of mιllιons of social media followers, was persuaded to part with about $8 mιllιon thanks to all of those qualities (and more). Tyler, who is still in his early 20s, has become one of the most popular hip-hop artists of his generation by fusing elements of jazz, mainstream rap, underground hip-hop, and a little bit of theatrical eccentricity.

Over the course of his more than ten-year career, Tyler has gone from being the de facto leader of the rap group Odd Future to a modern-day Renaissance man who is currently at the top of his field.

When seen from above, the 1960s construction has been changed, and there is a notable extension that was purportedly erected in the early 1990s.

No area of the one-ace property can be seen from the street because it is tucked away behind a gated driveway that is shared with another substantial estate. A walkway outside connects the driveway with the all-glass entrance.
