UPDATE: Man City officials laugh at Bayern Munich transfer plans with Julian Alvarez

Bayern Munich’s hopes of securing one Manchester City first-team star on loan this summer have been met with laughter from within the Etihad Stadium.

That concerns Julian Alvarez, who is understood to be a target for the recently-crowned Bundesliga champions in a loan deal, should they fail in their pursuit of number one striking target Harry Kane.

Although some sources estimate Tottenham’s valuation of the England international to be north of £110 million, Bayern Munich has not yet surpassed the £80 million mark. Tottenham appears to be sticking fast on this figure.

In anticipation of the ultimate letdown, officials at the Allianz Arena have begun to explore elsewhere. Their quest has led them to the Etihad Stadium and the guy who frequently serves as Erling Haaland’s backup.

However, a recent source has described the amusing response from within the offices of the Premier League champion Manchester City when word of Bayern Munich’s intentions to start talking about a prospective loan deal for Julian Alvarez spread.

That is as per 90Min’s Tom Gott and Graeme Bailey, who state that Manchester City officials have ‘laughed off’ suggestions that they could be willing to part ways with Julian Alvarez this summer, on either a permanent deal or a loan.

It is made plain that Alvarez has had a positive impact on the team since joining last summer, and as a result, Manchester City is “delighted” with him and will not contemplate the thought of losing him this summer. The player is likewise content with the club.

In addition, Julian Alvarez’s sentiments about his status at Manchester City were made plain by his decision to sign a one-year contract extension in March, just 12 months into his current term. According to 90Min, there is still a “mutual desire” to work together in the future.

As long as a transfer fee is still being negotiated with RB Leipzig, City will continue to concentrate on their own transfer business, which is the acquisition of Josko Gvardiol.

The Croatian international is expected to join Pep Guardiola’s team at the start of the new season, but Aymeric Laporte’s future is anticipated to remain in question for a little while longer due to a lack of clear interest in Europe, according to expectations within the club.

Gvardiol’s Bundesliga team continues to seek €100 million plus bonuses for their star defender at the back, thus City would likely need to fork over a world record transfer cost for a central defender to sign him.
