“So basically Old Man Hood”: Hugh Jackman Bags First Vigilante Role Outside Marvel Who is Arguably Even More Famous Than Wolverine

How Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer are all set to unite to breathe new life into Robin Hood’s story

The year 2024 is turning out to be quite the year for Hugh Jackman. The Australian star is making a return to the big screen as everyone’s favorite clawed mutant, Wolverine. The X-Men member has been a mainstay not only in the comics, but also in the movie series, beginning with 2000’s X-Men. It was the latter which catapulted Hugh Jackman to a pedestal from which there was no turning back. The year 2024 marks a return for Jackman to his loved role. But it comes alongside confirmation that he will be making his debut as Robin Hood, as well.

Hugh Jackman’s stock has grown exponentially since he first appeared in X-Men. What the role opened for him was a floodgate that just doesn’t seem to come to a close. Successful roles in Swordfish, Van Helsing and The Prestige followed his lovable performance as Wolverine.

SUGGESTED

Having established a name for himself for playing the role of a hero who is never afraid of doing what he feels is the right choice, it does not come as a surprise that he has been chosen to essay the role of arguably one of the greatest vigilante known to humanity – Robin Hood.

The excitement for Michael Saronski’s The Death of Robin Hood is unreal

Michael Saronski is all set to head the new venture, helming The Death of Robin Hood, starring Jackman and Jodie Comer, about the legendary English outlaw, in association with WME Independent, with Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett of Ryder Picture Company and Alexander Black from Lyrical Media as members of its producing team. The Pig director couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity.

He said,

“It has been an incredible opportunity to reinvent and freshly innovate the story we all know of Robin Hood. Securing the perfect cast to transform the script to screen was essential. I could not be more thrilled and trusting in Hugh and Jodie to bring this story to life in a powerful and meaningful way.”

The movie is all set to debut at this year’s Cannes Festival, and the hype is real. Who wouldn’t be excited to witness Jackman essay the role of the vigilante who is almost at the end of the line (does that remind us of another movie he has been a part of?)

Fans have made it more than clear that they would love to witness this project spring to life. The clock seems to have been set already.

When the bells toll, the fans of the story (and the star) will be more than willing to be there, lining up for a chance to see their favorite outlaw in action.
