Jim Belushi’s Luxurious $30M Mansion: A Glimpse Inside

Jim Belushi, the actor, comedian, and cannabis farmer, has finally closed the chapter on his Los Angeles residence, selling it for $30M after more than four years on the market. This custom-built Northern Italian-style estate, spanning 14,371 square feet, boasts seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. Nestled on over an acre in the prestigious Brentwood Park neighborhood, it marks the third most expensive sale in the area this year, according to property records.

Architect Oscar Shamamian and designer Michael Smith collaborated on the home’s elegant design. Originally listed for a lofty $38.5M in September 2017, the property underwent price reductions and fluctuations throughout its listing history. It was briefly removed from the market before reappearing in March 2019 for just under $28M, then skyrocketing to $38M in September. Most recently, it was listed for $33.5M before being sold for $30M.

Belushi, 67, acquired the property through two separate purchases, the first in 2003 for $4.2M and the second in 2007 for $8.3M. He demolished a 1950s house on the first lot to create the opulent megamansion that now stands.

The residence features imported tiles from Italy, Morocco, and Venezuela, along with Turkish travertine limestone, creating an atmosphere that, according to Belushi, transports you to another world. Additional luxurious details include hand-carved stone fireplaces and coffered ceilings in the living room. French doors from the gourmet kitchen open to the expansive lawn, leading to the pool and spa area, pavilion, and guest house. The property also boasts a wine room with a full bar.

Apart from his real estate endeavors, Belushi is known for his contributions to television shows like “Saturday Night Live” and “According to Jim,” as well as his role in the 1991 film “Curly Sue.” He is the younger brother of the late John Belushi, another “Saturday Night Live” alum who passed away in 1982.

Currently, Jim Belushi is the owner of Belushi’s Farm, a 93-acre operation in Oregon’s Rogue Valley, specializing in cannabis cultivation and sales within the state. Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency held the listing, while Doron Linz and Daniel Dill, also of Westside Estate Agency, represented the buyer.
