After winning the lawsuit, Ed Sheeran rented an apartment in Brooklyn and find inspiration to create ‘hit songs’
According to a person familiar with the matter, the British pop artist Ed Sheeran has signed a lease for a $36,000 per month apartment at the brand-new Pierhouse building in Brooklyn Bridge Park, New York City.
According to a previous rental listing by Sarah Williams of Societe Real Estate, the fully furnished residence has four bedrooms and a square footage of roughly 3,200. The Brooklyn Heights neighborhood’s Pierhouse condominium complex, which contains about 100 units, has attracted high-profile buyers including Matt Damon and Amy Schumer.
Property records indicate that the flat was most recently sold in 2018 for $6.01 mιllιon, but it was not immediately clear who Mr. Sheeran’s landlord was. The Sheeran property was Brooklyn’s priciest rental when it first went on the market in January, asking $36,000 per month. According to StreetEasy, it was withdrawn off the market about two months ago.
According to the description, the property offers a private rooftop terrace with views of lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge, as well as an outdoor eating space and a grill. The kitchen boasts Calacatta Tucci marble surfaces and walnut cabinets. According to the listing, the apartment is furnished with items from companies like Crate & Barrel, RH, and Serena & Lily.
It was impossible to speak with Mr. Sheeran’s representative right away for comment. Last week, Mr. Sheeran, known for songs like “Perfect” and “Shape of You,” was in New York to testify in front of a federal jury in a copyright infringement case that concerns whether Mr. Sheeran’s song, “Thinking Out Loud,” piggybacked too closely off Marvin Gaye’s popular song “Let’s Get it On.”
